Chan & Scott Auction House is an international auction firm specializing in philately, postal history, numismatics, and Asian antiques. Our core expertise lies in the rich historical landscape of China and the foreign post offices and colonial powers that once operated throughout Asia. From rare stamps and early postal documents to imperial porcelain and coins, we curate auctions with a strong emphasis on historical significance, authenticity, and cultural value.
We operate globally, conducting regular online auctions in both the United States and China, offering collectors seamless digital access to our fully transparent catalogs. Our buyers and consignors come from across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, drawn by our reputation for expertise, integrity, and carefully selected material.
On this platform, we use the trading name Bazaar of Persia Auction House, which was adopted when we first established our presence here two years ago.
Founder: Patrik Idestahl_
Patrik Idestahl is a licensed auctioneer based in Linkoping, Sweden, and the founder of Chan & Scott. With a lifelong passion for philately and historical collectibles, he brings a diverse professional background spanning entrepreneurship, international development, and cultural heritage.
He has successfully led companies in both Sweden and Spain, and has worked on UN- and SIDA-supported development projects in West Africa. Since 2021, he has fully dedicated his work to the auction world, with a specialization in philately, postal history, and colonial-era material.
Patriks auction philosophy is straightforward: offer high-quality items with low starting prices and let the market decide the value. His goal is to make rare and meaningful artifacts accessible to collectors at all levels while upholding trust, transparency, and professional service.

Alas, the USPS seems to have lost the item, but the auction house was swift and very cooperative in providing a full and cheerful refund. No points to the USPS, full marks to the auction house.
