Please review all items carefully before bidding and make your own judgment on identification, authenticity, and condition of items. It is our intention to give accurate descriptions and make note of any damage. It is the bidder’s responsibility to determine condition and completeness, etc. of property being offered. We are not experts in every field and often consult with those who are. Fakes and forgeries are very prevalent in all areas of antiques and collectibles. We refuse known forgeries nearly every day with best efforts to keep them off the market. Occasionally a known fake such as a Rolex may be sold but will be clearly stated in the catalog descriptions. Other items may not be easily determined such as Coach and we will report it as marked as such and such. AUTOGRAPHS: Autographs are an exceptionally difficult field with many authentication services available. We do not believe authenticating is an exact science and are not here to engage in “dueling experts” to dispute COA’s and will not accept a contrary opinion as grounds for canceling a sale regardless of perceived qualifications of another expert. Authentications come down to a matter of opinion. We sell everything on consignment and represent what we know about an item including any authentication that comes with an item. A New Day Auctions will provide opinion but no guarantees with the following guidelines: WEIGHTS: All weights are for the entire piece including all stones and workings and are guaranteed within 10% using a Ohaus digital scale. STONES: tested using a Presidium Duo gem tester. GOLD & PLATINUM: tested using a Auracle tester or acid test if requested by the consignor. SILVER: rare earth magnet and acid test if requested by consignor. NOTE: Markings are reported but are not always reliable due to many fakes on the market. Heavy plating is often seen on items marked as 925, and various gold marks that are made outside of the US. Scratch testing/acid testing of these items can damage them and is not usually done. Our goal is to get your items to you safely and securely regardless of the price you paid. Our pricing is typically cheaper than outsourcing and we can control quality and customer service as well. We are not up-charging to make money, however we are charging to cover costs. Some may not like this but we cannot offer discounted shipping as we sell everything on consignment and these costs are not absorbed elsewhere. Shipping is done within 3 days - you must notify us if you will be picking items up by noon the day after the auction via email or phone. All items will be shipped FedEx, USPS or UPS at A New Day Auctions choice- typically cheaper price. Boxes over $100 will be shipped with insurance & signature required at buyers expense. A handling & material fee per package/box will be charged based on materials used and time. All costs are base on time & materials not value or price paid for the item. Ex: Breakables inherently cost more to pack than books. Handling/Time is calculated from time picking the items, wrapping, boxing, invoicing, and labeling typically minimum of 10 minutes which is a $3.00 charge. Materials vary- and although USPS priority/FR/Reg boxes are free, labels, tapes, bubble wrap, etc are not. Charges are not based on value of items. COINS & JEWELRY: insurance does not cover coins and jewelry that are sent without signature required. Insurance also does not cover any precious metals, coins, or jewelry not shipped in priority boxes. So shipping 1 coin will typically be the same as shipping as many we can fit in a flat rate box. FIREARMS: Adult signature is legally required - this is a higher charge. BOOK RATE/MEDIA MAIL: Please review published USPS guidelines for what qualifies. We will not break the law and ship non-qualifying pieces at media rate to try and save money. They do random checks- opening boxes and we can be fined. Comic books do not qualify. ARTWORK: To ship safely this is often oversized which is expensive and packing materials typically start at $10. Remember cost of item only affects insurance amount not shipping cost. a $10 lot can cost $100 to ship if it is large and heavy. And a $1000 coin can cost $12.
