
Description
A carved wooden mask with stylized horns and accented with aluminum metal strips as well as a red textile and inset real teeth. Dan Mano peoples, Ivory Coast and Liberia, West Africa. The mask measures 11 x 7 inches , 18 inches tall when adding the plant fiber beard. There is no display stand. Provenance: Field collected in situ by the Taylor family while working for the Peace Corps in the 1960s. The mask has been in their private collection ever since.
