China – German Post Offices, 1905 Germania Issue, Complete SetComplete hinged set of the German Post Office in China Germania issue, overprinted “China” in black on definitive stamps ranging from 1 Chinese cent to 2.5 Chinese dollars. Designed by Paul Eduard Waldraff and printed by the Reichsdruckerei in Berlin using typography. The stamps are comb perforated 14 × 14¼ and measure 22 × 26 mm. Known as the “King Issue”, the design features the allegorical figure of Germania, crowned with a diadem symbolizing imperial strength and national unity. Issued October 1, 1905, for use in German treaty ports such as Tientsin and Shanghai, these stamps remained valid until March 16, 1917.
