Description
Very Rare Omega Speedmaster 2998-2 Same Model As 'Wally Schirra' First Omega Speedmaster In Space. 'Dot Over 90' Bezel Including Box This Omega Speedmaster reference CK 2998-2, in stainless steel, is a historically significant and exceptionally rare collector's item. As the second generation of the Speedmaster, this model is renowned for being the first Omega watch worn in space by astronaut Walter "Wally" Schirra during the Mercury-Atlas 8 mission in 1962. It is distinguished by its straight lugs, absence of crown guards, and original black tachymeter bezel. The present example features the highly sought-after Calibre 321 manual-winding movement, slightly later dating to 1963, perfectly complementing the watch’s original Alpha hands and black dial. Boasting an attractive, dark patina, this timepiece represents a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of space exploration history, offering a reference rarely seen on the market in such lovely condition. Offered in working order. Size: 40mm x 48mm C. 1960 Stainless Steel Private London Collector, cleared on registered loss database.https://youtu.be/4VZKUBmR1FM
