An orignal SS Gairsoppa Shipwreck bar recovered in 2011. Original, unrestored bars retain an "underwater recovery patina" from being submerged at depths of nearly 4,700 meters. The ship was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1941 during WWII, and the wreckage was found in 2011.
