
Description
New York or possibly Scottish, late 18th century, poplar secondary wood throughout, primary wood is elm (confirmed by microanalysis, accompanied by a copy of the report), elaborately carved and fitted desk interior, inset quarter columns, boldly formed claw and ball feet, several branded marks "TIH", 44-1/4 x 46-1/4 x 22 in.

Condition
original feet, brasses replaced, losses to lips of fallboard, other scattered losses, one replaced bracket loose, significant wear throughout
