Description

A primitive farmhouse wall box with slanted lid and lower drawer with fitted interior in original red paint - dovetailed case - probably early 19th century. These boxes usually hung on a kitchen or fireplace wall to hold candles, salt or perishables and to keep rodents out. Replaced escutcheon, small loss bottom right corner, otherwise good condition. Measures 12 3/4"W x 7 1/4"D x 11 1/2"H.
