Description
The single hole tang is signed on one side and is lightly numbered by electric pencil with what appears to be a serial number of the GI who brought it home as a war souvenir. This example is complete with all its parts intact and include a nicely tied full length waist belt. The red lacquered scabbard and grip are wrapped in forest green ito with a fine brocade cloth mounted beneath the bound throat of the scabbard. The menuki are the large 3 inch type made of heavy brass depicting both a male and female dragon chasing the sacred flaming pearl. Each of the fittings of this sword are hand chased in a leafy vine motif. This is an impressive and very nice Tachi with a nicely water tempered blade.Full Length 41 Inches Blade Length 27 Inches Full length inches, blade length inches.
