Cased Matched Pair of Percussion Pistols, Spain or French origin, mid 19th century, approx. .48-50 caliber, the metal appearing as silver or nickel plate, the 7" octagonal smoothbore barrels slightly flared at the muzzles and having a bead front sights over a ramrod with button front end and threaded back end, both with the left barrel flat marked "25" indicating a pair, the barrels held to the wood frame by a single wedge, right side percussion locks engraved with bird motif also appearing on the trigger guard, an oval cartouche forward of the trigger guard with architectural buildings, the hammer with foliate engraving, the left frame opposite the lockplate with foliate engraved metal, the wood frame appears as walnut with checkering at the grips, the butts with foliate engraved metal bulbous cover, the mahogany case with an inset name plate at top and fitted interior with various tools and includes a small powder flask, both pistols with good operating action, the underside of both barrels have a cursive form "B" and separate "P", one has some obscured lettering, wood is very good, metal is good with some dark dots, the bores have light surface rust, for shipping case with all items is approx. 3.75" x 16.5" x 10.25", 10.45lbs
