Meissen, a pair of Louis XV gilt bronze mounted porcelain groups circa 1745 to 1749, each centered with a Kakiemon porcelain cachepot supported by three white porcelain swans attributed to Johann Joachim Kandler. The swans are modeled with naturalistic plumage and gracefully arched necks, forming a dynamic tripod support beneath the cachepots, which are hand painted in the Kakiemon taste with refined ornamentation characteristic of mid 18th century Meissen production. Each group is set upon an ornate gilt bronze rocaille base cast with scrolling foliage and leaf motifs and bearing the crowned C stamp, reflecting the influence of French Rococo design. Dimensions: 7.5 X 12.5 X 6 in.

Condition: Good to fair overall antique condition with typical age-related surface wear and patina. Losses to the tips of three wings, with one showing evidence of prior restoration. One swan appears to be a later replacement. Each swan has small pierced holes on the back, possibly from the original mounting or manufacturing process.
