This copy of Harriet Beecher Stowe's landmark novel Uncle Tom's Cabin contains a handwritten autograph on the front endpaper reading "S. L. Clemens - Mark Twain." The inscription displays both Twain's legal name (Samuel Langhorne Clemens) and his well-known literary pseudonym, a form occasionally used in autographs and inscriptions. The handwriting appears in graphite or ink and corresponds stylistically with known examples of Twain's autograph.

Description:

The volume is bound in brown cloth boards with black decorative stamping on the front cover, including the title Uncle Tom's Cabin and the author's name Harriet Beecher Stowe beneath an illustrated vignette. The binding shows moderate wear, including rubbing to edges and corners consistent with age and handling. Inside the front endpaper appears Twain's autograph written clearly across the page. The interior pages exhibit typical age toning but remain generally well preserved.
