Charles Jasper McLaughlin (American, 1888-1964) for Rookwood Pottery, Cincinnati, Ohio. Art pottery vellum glazed earthenware pictorial tile or plaque titled "In the Pine Woods," 1915. Depicting a sparsely forested landscape, executed in delicate shades of blue on cream white ground. Initialed along the lower right. With rookwood mark, dated "XV" (1915), and impressed "V" along the verso.
Unframed; height: 8 in x width: 6 1/4 in. Framed; height: 12 1/2 in x width: 10 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.

Condition
There are no major visible breaks, losses, or signs of restoration. Light wear along the extreme edges. Crazing throughout. There are several inscribed markings along the verso. Light wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
