Description
I will wager this is the best condition Colt Army revolver currently up for auction this month. I purchased this yesterday as I type this description, at our Ohio Gun Collectors Association meeting. It is a smoker. Fine+++ to excellent condition with 70% to 80% original factory blue and case colors. Near mint grips with vividly crisp cartouches on each side. All matching serial numbers including the wedge. The barrel blue around the front sight still has the brushed feathering vividly visible on both sides of the sight blade. 100% original, 100% complete, mechanically new. What makes this gun extra special is the little bit of wear it does show is very gentle and uniform. There is no flaking, no scratches, no abrasions, and no rough spots. There are no blemishes that distract from the color. It retains most of the blue on the barrel most of the color case hardening on the rammer and frame, and the cylinder has vestiges of blue evenly mixed with smooth plum patina which matches the balance of the gun. Incredibly handsome. When I saw this at the show yesterday I stopped dead in my tracks. $55 for packing and UPS shipping with signature required service. Insurance is $2 per $100 in value. No shipments outside the USA.
