Gettelman Milwaukee Beer 13.5" embossed sign. The A. Gettelman Brewing Company was founded in 1856 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by George Schweickhart as the Menomonee Brewery. Adam Gettelman, Schweickhart's son-in-law, became a partner in 1871 and took sole ownership in 1876. The brewery operated until 1961, when it was sold to the Miller Brewing Company. Sign is composed of a composition material and has strong embossing including a central hand and edge lettering. Wear consistent with age, but overall sign displays great for a piece of early Breweriana. Please see detailed photos.
